It began with Tom McGrath and his one man law firm. Tom built a successful personal injury practice dedicated to treating clients with a personal touch which is often missing in larger firms.

Tom’s practice took an interesting turn in the early 1990’s which eventually merged it with his passion for motorcycling. Tom became aware that motorcyclists were being denied access to Virginia’s High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes. He believed that this was discriminatory and violated the law. He took on the fight to open these lanes to motorcyclists and won. From that point on, Tom McGrath was not only the person that injured motorists came to when they needed help; he became the person that motorcyclists turned to when their rights were violated.

As the needs of his clients grew, Tom surrounded himself with lawyers who were not only skilled trial attorneys, but were also passionate motorcyclists themselves. A one man personal injury firm with a reputation for helping motorcyclists became a multi-state law firm dedicated to serving clients with the same personal touch as the original one man office. Today our firm serves our clients both in and out of court. Out of court, we use our resources to maintain a presence in state legislative bodies. We work to promote laws that protect the rights of motorcyclists and to remove laws that do not. In court, we use our knowledge and skill to protect the rights of those injured by the carelessness of others. Motorcyclists have come to know us as the Motorcycle Law Group, and everyone has come to know us as the firm dedicated to protecting the rights of the injured.
